Fears and Phobias

There are somewhere between 500 and 600 documented phobias, and they can be detrimental to our wellbeing, increase our general anxiety and lead us to avoid specific situations that we would otherwise enjoy.

Fear is a useful and helpful emotion – it is the brain telling us that we are in danger and need to react accordingly.  Sometimes, however, the fear may not be needed, and certainly not to the degree that we experience it.  In the case of a phobia there may be a part of us that ‘knows’ we don’t need to be so scared, but we aren’t able to stop it.

We don’t need to understand ‘why’ the phobia exists to change things. Using specific techniques within clinical hypnotherapy we will change the relationship between the thing you are afraid of and your response to it, so that you are in control.
